Talking about psoriasis
Short podcasts about people's experiences of psoriasis
Psoriasis Shout Out is a biannual event which gets people talking about psoriasis and brings patients together with professionals working in the field of psoriasis management and research
In October 2018, Vocal helped to develop the 50 Second Shout Outs project to mark the 50th anniversary of the Psoriasis Association.
In collaboration with patients and researchers, we created a series of 50 second podcasts about people’s experiences of psoriasis and their advice for managing the condition.
Psoriasis Shout Out is led by Professor Chris Griffiths, Director of the Manchester Centre for Dermatology Research and theme lead for the NIHR Manchester Manchester Biomedical Research Centre.
Listen to the podcasts here:
Brian talks about his lifetime experience of trying to find an effective treatment for psoriasis and has found that the NHS Biologic treatments have resulted in a huge improvement.
Rebecca talks about how psoriasis has affected her mental health and how becoming a psoriasis ambassador and connecting with other people has helped her to feel more positive.
Sharon shares her personal experience of psoriasis and the complications of having psoriasis and also being in a wheelchair.
Simon talks about his experience of depression and anxiety, but how meeting with others has made him discover that there is ‘so much positivity out there’ and talking about you feel really helps.
