Join a new Advisory Group
- Over 3.9 million people in the UK live with type 2 diabetes, but many people face challenges accessing support and information.
- Evidence shows that self-management can help people stay healthier with diabetes. People increasingly use digital tools such as websites and apps to do this.
- These tools need to be tested and evaluated to find out if they are effective for patients.
Help people improve digital support for type 2 diabetes
MyWay Diabetes is a website and app that brings together people’s personal health records, learning resources, and personalised advice. It’s available in Greater Manchester, North West London (called Diabetes MyWay), and Somerset (called Know Diabetes).
We’re setting up an Advisory Group to shape research which is evaluating MyWay Diabetes. The group will ensure that the views of patients and carers will help to shape the research.
Help to shape research
The group will help to ensure that people with diverse experiences are heard and understood. Members will take part in meetings held on Zoom every three months over 2-3 years. Meeting will usually last for two hours.
Advisory Group members will work with the research team to:
Co-design feedback workshops so people with diabetes feel comfortable joining and sharing their views.
Interpret research results to highlight what matters most to people with diabetes.
Guide other areas of the research such as surveys and decisions about how findings are shared with the diabetes community.
