We’re looking for people with experience of any of the following to join the Network:
Psoriasis
Alopecia (hair loss)
Photodermatoses (light sensitive skin conditions)
Chronic, difficult to heal wounds
Concerns about the quality of your skin as you become older
As a member of the Network, you’ll draw on your lived experience to share your views and opinions with researches. You can be involved by taking part in friendly meetings online or face to face, by providing feedback on research proposals or information by email.
Dermatological conditions affect in people in different ways and we’re committed to make sure that the network includes people from a range of lived experiences. We specifically encourage people who are from Black and other minoritised ethnic communities to join the Network.

Help us shape the All About Alopecia event!
We’re looking for people with experience of different types of alopecia to help design a public event to share latest research, support and tips for living well with alopecia.
When: Monday 2nd of September 2024, 6 - 7:30 pm
Where: Online, Zoom
To take part you need to
Have experience of alopecia, including frontal fibrosing alopecia, scarring alopecias, female pattern hair loss
Be happy to share your thoughts and ideas in a group setting.

We pay everyone who takes part in our activities in line with national guidelines. You’ll be offered an honorarium of £ 25 per hour for meetings and we’ll cover pre-agreed travel expenses within Greater Manchester (see our payment policy for more information).
We’re committed to making our opportunities as inclusive and accessible as possible, if there’s anything that we can do to enable you to take part (for example, providing BSL interpretation, childcare and caring expenses) please let us know.
Please note, certain activities may have limited spaces or have specific requirements (for example, requiring input from people with a particular condition or from a specific age group) and we can’t guarantee you’ll be able to take part in all opportunities shared. In these cases, places may be allocated on a first come first served basis or people that match specific requirements will be prioritised. We’ll also make sure that Network members get an opportunity to take part in at least one activity.
