Vocal team - Suzanne Parsons

Posted by Annie Keane, Deputy Director, in Listen up, April, 2021

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our dear colleague and friend Suzanne passed away last week.

A picture of a woman.

Suzanne was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by love.

Suzanne was proud socialist Scouser, a grafter, someone who always stood up for the underdog. Someone who was also passionate about our health care system, how it can be improved through research, and the value of patient experience and expertise in that research.

Suzanne was a key member of the team for nearly 10 years and was pivotal in developing our work and our organisation. She was a true pioneer, caring and compassionate and would always find ways to deal with challenges.

She nurtured talent and truth through all the elements of her role. True to her values, during her illness, she took part in an experimental trial.

We send our love to Suzanne's family. We will continue to be inspired by her and carry on her legacy.

If you'd like to share a memory of Suzanne or send a message of condolence to her family, please email our colleagues at research.comms@mft.nhs.uk. The messages will be collated for an online book of condolence.

If you'd like to make a donation in memory of Suzanne, the family would be grateful for them to go to the Maggie's Centre at The Christie through the following link www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ian-shoesmith3
