Find out about advances in radiotherapy and how researchers and patients work together

Any patient who's coming through and wondering what to do next, if they're thinking of getting involved in research, I'd say go for it. It's a really good way...to turn a negative into a positive.

Mike Thorpe, Patient and Public contributor

Manchester is a world-leading centre for radiotherapy.

To continue to develop innovative treatments, researchers need help from patients and the public to develop their research.

Researchers explain how the MR Linac technology is being used to treat cancer patients. The MR Linac combines radiotherapy with MRI scanning which allows the treatment to be highly targeted and to avoid surrounding tissue.

This is a really exciting time for radiotherapy research, especially here at the Christie. We've got lots of innovations and lots of ideas of things we want to do to try and improve the outcomes for patients.
